How long will my portrait take?
This depends on the size of the canvas, a 10 x 8 portrait will take a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of three. The bigger the size, the longer the process, but I will give you an expected due date before I start your piece.
What if I want a canvas size that isn’t listed?
If you would like a canvas size that isn’t listed, I will be able to give you a separate quote for the size you want. Just e-mail me with your query.
Can I get the portrait framed by you before you send it?
If you would like me to frame the portrait for you before sending it, I am happy to do so, and there will be the additional cost of framing added onto the price.
Can I have a painting with more than one person in it?
If you would like a family or wedding portrait, or just a painting with more than one person in it, I will be happy to give you a quote. Each extra face will usually add three days to the length of the process.
Awright Portraits can discuss all the arrangements with you over the phone or via email, however if you would like to make a start on your design first then below are some guidelines to follow...
- Choose a canvas size for your portrait (the average adult face will usually be actual size on a 12 x 16” canvas.
- Choose or take a photograph of the subject.
- Send this photograph to me either via email or post. An email attachment is preferred but not necessary.
- Decide which design choices you wish to make, for example background colour, whether you would like full colour or a black and white portrait, whether the subject is central or offset from the centre of the canvas.
- Communicate your design to me either by e-mail, post or telephone. (If you would prefer this choice to be left to myself this is also completely fine)
I will then send an invoice for a 20% deposit. This is to cover my expenses, and to let me know I can make a start on your portrait.
When I have received the deposit I will begin to paint and will let you know how long the portrait will take. Most portraits vary between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the size of the canvas.
Before the portrait is complete I will send you an image of the portrait to make sure that you are happy with it, and in case you wish for some alterations to be made.
Once you are completely satisfied with the portrait and have made the remaining payment I will then send the portrait to you by courier. This will be confirmed by email to inform you as to when the portrait should arrive.
I would like a portrait of my dog, do you do pets?
Yes, prices are slightly lower for pets, so please call or e-mail for a quote.
I would like a portrait but I live outside Europe, can you deliver to the United States?
I am able to deliver all over the globe, and will happily convert quotes between currencies. Although the cost of posting and packaging will be more outside the UK.
Will my portrait be in the gallery on the website after completion?
Please express to me whether or not you would like your portrait to be displayed in the gallery after completion. All photographic material is strictly confidential and is securely stored, until it is deleted upon completion of the order
